Discover the secrets of alchemy in this retro-styled Metroidvania. Explore a shadowy temple and a fiery abyss while fighting and platforming to gain more alchemical abilities. Pixel art is built with (mostly) the classic NES palette, while the gameplay is inspired by Hollow Knight and Metroid Fusion.
Built in 1 month for Metroidvania Month 22. Currently has 2 completed areas, 3 main upgrades, and 7 optional upgrades. 5 more areas and 4 more major upgrades are planned for future development.

The game is perfect
Some things I liked are...
1. The Music: The music in the first zone was lacking but everything other than that was a banger.
2. The graphics: The graphics make you feel like you are playing an old NES classic.
3. The Gameplay: The controls are weird at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly. The game mechanics are very well made, and I love the "Jab down on a enemy and get boosted up" mechanic.
The game is perfect so far. But here are some things I didn't like.

hello ian, This is a super impressive game and I think its very fun, although my web browser was struggling every time I get hit it flashes black maybe the windows build will be better, I also see you also fixed the UI for getting new items.

Very fun game, really nicely done! The character abilities were great and ran smoothly. I liked how many different upgrades there were to find, and how you spaced them. The behavior and variety of the enemies/bosses was excellent. Once I had all the health and ability upgrades, I tried to double-jump, lead-suit, and brute force my way across the river, and saw a message like "Congratulations, you...without dying...", never saw it in full :).
Some hopefully helpful feedback as you develop further: I died once mid-air, and my body then fell into a gap that would transition you to a room below, and it softlocked. I also got the same crashes in web upon entering the rooms toward the beginning that have been noted by others on Windows; that guy who walked away in there made me so curious, too.

I got the same bug as the other commenter, and have attached a photo of the crash error
great game ! it bugs out though if you backtrack after getting the double jump - its on the 2nd screen from the start , when you try and enter the room above the temple entrance ...
also , is the game finishable ? i got to the grey swamp type screen but couldnt get through it ?
